Work Experience with Luca Simpson

We're always inspired by the fresh perspectives that newcomers bring to our team, including Luca Simpson, who recently joined us for his work experience placement. We sat down with Luca to learn more about his background, future goals, and his impressions of his time with us at Columns.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

Hi! I’m Luca Simpson, I’m 18, and I’m currently studying Media Studies. Outside of my studies, I’m passionate about music – especially playing the drums, which lets me express myself in a unique way. I also love playing golf; it’s a great way to relax, challenge myself, and enjoy time outdoors.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I think about the future, I see myself pursuing a career in property design and management. I think it would be exciting to blend creativity with practical skills, designing spaces that people will love and enjoy living in.

Where is your favourite place to go when you have some time off, and why?

Aldeburgh in Suffolk is my favourite getaway spot. I’m lucky to have a house there, so it’s the perfect place to relax. I love playing golf with friends and just enjoying the fresh air. The town itself is amazing and full of character, I always enjoy taking long walks and exploring the old town.

What are some things you have learned while spending time with the Columns team?

During my time with the Columns team, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the diverse roles everyone plays in the office. It’s been eye–opening to see how much creativity and skill go into each project, and I’ve learned a lot by observing how the team collaborates and brings ideas to life. What stands out most is how kind and caring everyone is; it’s a welcoming environment where people genuinely support one another.

Any words of wisdom that you wish to impart on our social followers?

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.
